Welcome to Puddle Duck Childcare

Hello there! I’m Durrey Zeb, and I’m thrilled to welcome you to Puddle Duck Childcare, where I nurture your child’s early years with care, expertise, and a global cultural perspective.

I’m a qualified childminder with a passion for early childhood education. My qualifications include:
A Bit About Me
- Outstanding Ofsted report
- Pre-primary Montessori training for children aged 0-6 years
- A Pre-Primary teaching certificate
- CYPOP 5 early years accreditation
- Access and Inclusion Certified
- Speech and Language UK Early Talk accreditation
- Phonics for Children in the Early Years Foundation Stage
But what really sets me apart is my global experience. I’ve lived and worked in the Middle East, Europe, Hawaii, and Asia. I’ve even had the privilege of serving as a governess tutor for a Royal Family overseas! These experiences have given me a deep appreciation for different cultures, languages, and traditions, which I love to incorporate into my childcare approach.
I’m multilingual, fluent in Urdu, English, and Punjabi, with conversational skills in French, Turkish, and Arabic. This helps me create a welcoming environment for children from various backgrounds.
My Approach to Childcare
At Puddle Duck Childcare, I believe in creating a warm, clean, and inclusive environment that celebrates diversity. I love introducing simple welcoming phrases from different languages, helping children from various backgrounds feel more at home. This multicultural approach not only comforts children but also broadens their horizons from an early age.
I’ve had success working with children who have speech delays, helping them to start talking and singing. My philosophy is simple: kids learn through creativity, so don’t send them in their best clothes – we like to get mucky with flour, paint, and glue!

Learning Through Play and Exploration
I believe in nurturing children’s natural curiosity and creativity through a variety of engaging activities. Here’s what we get up to:
Outdoor Adventures
- We explore our colorful outdoor space with a sandpit, mud kitchen, a fairy garden, and a special area for our toy hedgehog, Hodge, who “hibernates” in the garden.
- I’ve built a “Nature’s Den,” where children can inspect natural materials like pinecones, acorns, and sticks.
- We have a “Duckling Dino and Digger Land” to help children understand Earth’s timelines while developing motor skills.
- We do gardening activities, growing vegetables, fruits, herbs, and sunflowers.
- We even have a unique music wall with wooden percussion instruments and painted dustbin lids!
The Duckling's Cozy Den
- • A purpose-built discovery space where children develop essential skills through imaginative play in six themed areas
- • Carefully curated environment that sparks curiosity with rotating "treasures" to maintain engagement and excitement
- • Multi-sensory learning opportunities from musical exploration to tactile experiences with shells and soil
- • Rich role-play settings that build social confidence, language skills, and creative thinking
- • Child-led discovery that supports natural development while children have fun in our magical Duckling's Cozy Den

Creative Expression
- We do seasonal art projects, mixing colors to represent different times of the year.
- The children contribute to our outdoor art gallery with their handprint paintings.
Sensory and Montessori Learning
- We have a wooden playhouse with a slide and a nature den underneath, filled with natural sensory materials.
- Inside, we use Montessori toys and activities for focused skill development.
Life Skills and Community Involvement
- I teach important topics like stranger danger and healthy eating.
- We participate in community service projects, like our successful charity fundraiser which raised £1600 for Reach.

Culinary Experiences

- We discover world cuisines through themed cooking activities such as French, Middle Eastern, and Chinese.
- The children get hands-on experience in food preparation and cooking.
Keeping You Involved
I believe in keeping parents informed and involved in their child’s growth:
- I send out monthly newsletters via email.
- I provide regular updates on your child’s progress and activities.
- I offer 15 hours of free funding + 30 hours.
Join us at Puddle Duck Childcare, where your child will embark on a journey of discovery, learning, and growth in a nurturing, multicultural environment that values creativity, community, and hands-on experiences. Children come in with empty backpacks but leave with knowledge, and I can’t wait to be a part of your child’s early learning adventure!
